Freshman Days - There's No Romance in Assignments

Howdy all! Lexi here again with a new post, and today I'd like to touch on a sore subject for probably a lot of you out there--especially the lazy ones and procrastinators.

Homework.

Just the simple word can make flesh crawl and minds cringe. We've all come to know it ever since our earlier elementary school days, and in high school the load of work teachers give to their students is no joke--trust me on that one.
Depending on the classes you take will decipher the amount of homework you might get on a daily basis; like if you were to choose honors biology I heard that there is rarely a day where the students never have homework. With regular classes it varies, but the homework load isn't as bad. On an average, I might get homework in maybe 3 of my classes (Biology, Survey, and Algebra).

Homework is never hard unless you don't try, and what I mean by not trying is copying. Copying can be considered a practice among many teens and "tweens" as it allows you to get the assignment done in the ample amount of time--but it is never good to copy.
I'll admit that I have copied a few times before (I mean, who hasn't? I think we all have in some point of our lives, be it intentional or non-intentional) when I don't have enough time at home to complete an assignment, but I always make sure that I find spare time to try.
That's the thing with copying--you get your work done, but do you actually understand it? When it comes time for the test you can't rely on your neighbors to 'copy' off of and when you don't understand what you're doing you'll find yourself in a monster of a predicament. That's why you should at least make the effort to do your homework, or even take a glance at it. Don't be lazy. If you're busy then I understand that, but if you're just sitting at home on Facebook chatting idly with your friends then there is no excuse. I bet you haven't even done your homework now, am I right? Go do it.

Projects...

Don't. Wait. Until. The. Last. Minute!
I'm a procrastinator, I know this! I've done projects the night before it was due and the morning of the day it was due, and each time I do this I get stressed out!
Two of my biggest flaws--laziness and procrastinating--really hinder me when it comes to projects for my classes. I always tell myself the day it was given, "Alright Lexi, you should start on this when you get home!" and then I never--and I mean never--get around to doing it until it was too late. I always get distracted--be it Facebook, YouTube, or something random and irrelevant in general--and lose my focus, shying away from doing the project and telling myself that "I still have time, I'll get it done!".
Then the night before the project is due I stress myself--and my parents at times--about supplies, ideas, and creativity. In the end I might get a high B or a low A on what I had done (allowing me to sigh in relief), but seriously, I should have gotten out of the way before.

So basically what I'm saying is don't wait until the last minute to do your projects; get 'em done while you can so you'll have the rest of the time to not worry about anything. Well, over and out, I've got to catch up on a bit of homework myself!
